This Italian restaurant in Truckee is a spot you must eat at! Straight classic Italian with a Chicago twist. The owner is Tim and his family. It’s a very family oriented place. Once you start coming here they make you feel like a part of their family. Tim cooks the food with his own hands and works the bar as well. If you go to Zano’s a few times, I guarantee they will know you by name, it’s that friendly of a place.
Let’s start talking food! Oh my god! You seriously cannot go wrong here! Soups and salads are fantastic. Their creamy gorgonzola dressing is my personal favorite. Pizza, ridiculous! The Aunt Dina is wonderful. It has meatballs, ricotta, and garlic. Simple, but absolutely perfect! For the main course, their four cheese manicotti is an easy choice. Last time I was there, I ordered the manicotti and it came out with a slice of pizza on top and then I hear Tim yell from the kitchen, “It’s a Chicago garnish!” Their service is unbeatable.
If you want a good deal go there for lunch. They offer a salad bar with any slice of pizza for $8. For lunch in Truckee you really can’t beat that! Their bar is great too. A very diverse selection of beers and wines. The atmosphere is anything you want it to be. You can sit in the main dinning area, the bar, private family rooms, and the outside patio as well.
If you’re in the area hanging out at the lakes during the summer or snowboarding or skiing in the winter, stop by Zano’s and become part of the family!
